I got to do a big art project recently. It seems I'm still pretty artistically capable even after all this time of inactivity. My roommate was repainting his walls blue and decided he wanted some art to look at too. So he asked me to paint something on his wall, and he chose the picture that I drew on my DS a year ago. So with white, black, and blue paint, I managed to paint this. It took forever, I think around 12 hours total. Painting is so anal. Having to dip the paint brush every 2 seconds get annoying.
There's nothing in the picture for size comparison, but the distance from the waist up to the top of the hair is 38 inches.
It actually looks like felts, not paint - Good job! What kind of paint did you use to get that kind of non-streaky finish? I like the monotone feel to it with all the blue. I remember painting a giant Tasmanian Devil (loony toons) on a friend's wall years ago. I never took a photo of it, his family moved and I don't know him anymore. I wonder if that Tasmanian Devil is still on some kid's bedroom wall or whether the new owners painted over it? I'll never know.
Yeah, the owner of this wall is definitely gonna be moving sometime in the future so I'm glad I took a pic cause this is gonna have to be painted over when we leave the house.
The paints used were Kilz brand flat interior white, black, and blue. The shade of blue in the darkest shadows of this picture is the shade of the walls. He actually painted two walls blue and two white, so this was painted on one of the white walls. It was done only in shades of blue up to white to match the theme of the room.

Everything that I'm not has been sacrificed for having music. And it's actually quite alot. It sounds extreme, but I don't know why I'd want to live if I didn't have this job. It's one task, one craft, one mission, and it's one life. -Utada Hikaru
Oh but you can. Just summon the strength from within.

Yes, it is a shame. I put more effort into this than almost any other piece of art I've ever done.
